|Q-strap Double Sling
Last year I purchased and reviewed the Q-strap Quick Strap Camera Sling , as an alternative to the Black Rapids Camera sling. I have used that sling religiously ever since, and it has held up great. They have recently released the two camera double sling version of that same strap, that sells for less than a third of the nearest competitors product. The question is does the quality of this strap hold up to its predecessor? And is it a viable replacement for the much higher priced name brand straps?

It has been an amazing experience for me to be a part of Str8shot Photo on the web and am thankful everyday that I get to contribute to it. It is like a Christmas gift that gives all year. So I would like to say thank you to all of our readers who support our little Mag and keep us going. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Make sure you get that camera out and take some pictures. The holiday lights afford a photographic experience that is not available at others times of the year. The Memories you capture are that much more special because of the festivities surrounding the images.
Your setting up your new strobes for your first family portrait, everything is just about ready, when you feel a tug at your foot and turn around to find your brand new strobe falling to the floor and busting into a thousands tiny pieces. This scenario is repeated more often that you think. With the cost of remote triggers being so high most amateur photographers opt to use the wires that are included with most strobes as the activation source for their images. The problem is that these cords are everywhere when your done setting up, even if only for a couple of strobes. This tripping hazard is not only bad for your equipment, it could also get someone hurt in the process. Check out the remote triggers I found here to see if they can eliminate at least half the cords your going to have to use from now on.

I am going to start a new series of articles that focuses around accessories you can pick up for your camera for somewhere around the dollar price point. Many of the items are will actually be under a dollar, but I didn’t want to limit it to just under that amount. Mainly because there are a lot of items out there for just over a dollar that are a pretty good deal too. I will be adding items to them as they arrive and I get a chance to test them out properly. So if your interested in saving a bit of money, or just getting new stuff for your camera for cheap, then check out the new section / category called “DSLR Dollar Daze”.

If you have ever tried to buy a replacement battery for your Nikon D60 you have surely gotten a bit of a shock when you found out how much they cost. The Nikon EN-EL9a can heft a pretty price at around $50 per battery. What I am going to test here is an aftermarket battery and that costs a fraction of the price. I will also test out the aftermarket charger that adds a feature you don’t get with the factory Nikon charger. Both of these come in a package that costs less than half ($20) as much as a single Nikon battery. So lets see how they do.
